That’s a Wrap

As the 2020 season comes to a close, here at Mistwood, we have a lot to reflect upon. By and large, we feel that it was a good season here at Mistwood. Although we saw a late and rocky start, we were happy to get the season started on May 1, 2020 with ideal spring time weather. As we prepare the course for the winter months and start the planning process for the ‘21 season, we would like to share our thoughts on completing a year of operations at Mistwood and what we plan to accomplish.

The Course

We received many comments regarding the quality of the course this season with the vast majority being positive. Although the course does have plenty of room for improvement – mainly in the bunker department – many of the positive comments were in regards to the overall appearance of the course and the greens. Our efforts this season were primarily aimed at deferred irrigation repairs and greens treatments, resulting in a more lush overall appearance of the course, as well as firmer greens with improved playability. This fall fairways have been fertilized and winter mold applications will begin this weekend – including broadleaf herbicides – which should make a noticeable improvement right out of the gate next season. Over the winter additions to the equipment fleet will be in order, with plans to add mowers and other pieces of equipment. Once the ‘21 Season is in motion we plan to address bunkers, 2 to 4 at a time, with the goal to increase access to bunkers with a mechanical bunker rake, while improving the overall condition by adding sand to bunkers where needed. We can expect to see more improvement to the putting greens in 2021 as well by increasing top dressing cycles and continued chemical treatments.

The Restaurant

It is no secret that the hospitality industry took a massive hit across the nation earlier this year. With restaurants forced to close in late March, to later reopening with limited capacity levels, it has been difficult to navigate operating the restaurant at Mistwood in 2020. When deciding to take on the endeavor of operating Mistwood, the restaurant has been at the forefront of discussion; and that it should operate year round.  We are anxious to get to a point where we feel confident in taking the plunge into opening the restaurant on a set schedule. Until that time we will focus on a consistent food & beverage service for our golfers in 2021.

Leagues & Memberships

We are excited to welcome back our members and leagues in 2021. In order to best facilitate both we have decided to create another way to golf at Mistwood to complement Memberships. We hope that League Passes will encourage many of our players to play at Mistwood more often as well as make playing at Mistwood more affordable. For more information and pricing visit The prices posted online will be available through the end of this year. However, the Pro Shop at Mistwood will be closed at 5pm on October 26 for the season.
